San Antonio Chamber of Commerce

Facility Programming. and Consulting was engaged by the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce to prepare a Space Use Strategy for the San Antonio Chamber facilities. The existing Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce building was built in 1967 in preparation for the HemisFair exposition and was originally entitled the Chamber of Commerce Building and Tourist Information Center for the City of San Antonio, Texas. Located at 602 East Commerce Street in the heart of downtown, the building is north of the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and south of the Alamo and the Rivercenter Mall. The building is now home to the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation, and BioMed San Antonio.

A workshop was conducted with Chamber Leadership to gather input from leadership and staff regarding mission, function, efficiencies, culture, constraints, and challenges. The information gathered throughout the workshop was used to create recommendations for the Chamber to consider as it forecasts its future facility needs. The final report articulated the existing conditions and challenges of the Chamber facilities, and used input from Chamber leadership to provide a series of options for the current building as well as potential alternatives.
